In its three focus areas, FFGS and its team have a strong project track record and network of partners in education, government and business. As social entrepreneurs, we define relevant needs, specify projects, connect the relevant partners and find an appropriate form of funding. Our projects strive to make a clear contribution to sustainable development with maximum leveraging potential. Projects may qualify for government research promotion, such as CTI (the Swiss federal innovation promotion agency), creating a leverage for sponsors.
Project Example: FFGS and the Global Footrpint Network did a Footrpint macro-analysis on behalf of EBL, the leading electricity and heat provider for the canton of Basel Land. The project focused on the replacement of current heating systems (oil, gas, electricity) by modern systems (heat pumps, wood pellets, heat compounds). The research question was: 'How big is the change in my individual Footprint (as a client) by replacing my current thermal system with an eco-friendlier thermal system?' The results offer new ways of communication with customers. EBL is now able to link the customer decision of purchaising a thermal heating system to the subject of sustainable development.
